Privacy statement
Last updated 15 August 2026
This statement explains what personal information I Can’t Wait collects when you browse this site or book a stay, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. It covers the European Union and UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Quebec’s Law 25.

What we collect
- When you book or enquire: your first name, last name, email address, telephone number, arrival and departure dates, number of guests, and the property you selected.
- Payment: payments are processed by PayPal. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded and its reference. We never receive or store your card number.
- Reservations from booking channels: when you book through Airbnb, Booking.com or another channel, that channel sends us the reservation. What we receive is set by the channel — typically your name, the dates and a reservation reference, and sometimes only the last digits of a phone number. Several channels do not provide an email address at all.
- Technical information: your IP address and request details in our server logs, and a temporary session cookie that keeps your booking form state while you complete it.
- Preferences: if you choose light or dark mode, that choice is stored in your own browser and never sent to us.
- Audience measurement: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports aggregate page views. It sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you and does not follow you across other websites.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Why we use it, and our legal basis
- To provide the stay you booked — performance of a contract with you. Without this information we cannot hold or honour a reservation.
- To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and accommodation record-keeping required in Quebec and Canada.
- To keep the site and bookings secure — our legitimate interest in preventing fraud, abuse and double bookings, and in keeping availability accurate across the channels we sell through.
- To understand aggregate traffic — our legitimate interest in knowing which pages are useful, using measurement that does not identify you.
Who we share it with
We share only what each party needs to do its job:
| PayPal | Processes your payment |
|---|---|
| Beds24 | Our channel manager — holds reservations and availability |
| Airbnb, Booking.com and other channels | Where your booking was made through them |
| Cloudflare | Delivers and protects the site, and provides aggregate analytics |
| Google Workspace | Our email, if you correspond with us |
We may also disclose information to our professional advisers, or to authorities where the law requires it.
Where your information is held
Our website and booking records are hosted on servers in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Some of the providers listed above operate outside Canada and outside the European Economic Area. Where your information is transferred out of the EEA or the UK, that transfer relies on the safeguards each provider has in place — an adequacy decision or Standard Contractual Clauses, as applicable.
How long we keep it
We keep reservation and payment records for as long as Canadian and Quebec tax and accounting law requires us to, which is generally six years after the end of the relevant tax year. Enquiries that do not lead to a booking are kept only while they are still useful to answer you. Server and security logs are kept only as long as needed to operate and protect the site.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of the information we hold about you, correct it if it is wrong, or delete it where we are not required to keep it.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, the GDPR also gives you the right to restrict or object to how we use your information, the right to receive it in a portable format, and the right to withdraw consent at any time where we relied on it. You may complain to your national data protection authority.
If you are in Quebec, Law 25 gives you the right of access and rectification, the right to withdraw consent, the right to have information de-indexed in certain circumstances, and the right to receive computerised personal information in a structured, commonly used format. You may complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec.
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first, so that we do not disclose your information to someone else.
Children
This site is intended for adults booking accommodation. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
